YEA!!!!!!

Not long ago, I told the story of my diabetes test. Well, I went in for my three hour one earlier this week. All I can say is that I was bored out of my mind!

The day started off ok. Not eating since the night before and going in to get the oh-so-nasty sugar water. Then I wait, and wait, and wait, in the dusty drywall dust covered waiting room, for and hour. That wouldn’t have been bad but it was noon and I hadn’t eaten all day. I couldn’t focus on anything to save my life! I tried to read my book, nothing. I broused magazines for the hour.

Hour two. Blood drawn, and back to the waiting room. I foud one magaizne and focused a bit more this time. Fooud a couple of really good looking recipies while I was starving. (Isn’t it amazing how when you can’t eat all you want is the food in that picture?)

Hour three. Went by really fast. I mean that. It seemed like I was only in the waiting room for a few minutes before they called me in again.

Needless to say when I left at 3pm I was starving. Spegetti o’s have never tasted so good in my life! The good thing is that my test came back the way it should have. Normal at every single blood draw.

Dang!

I got my results back from my Diabetes test just now. I’ve been praying that I would pass this one so I wouldn’t have to go in for the three hour test (considering how sick I felt with the one hour test)

My results?

Normal is between 80 to 139ml of glucose in your blood after one hour. Mine was 150. All I have to say is dang.

Maybe this explains why Alyssa is measuring big. Who knows!

By the way, That’s how I feel right now!!!!!

My Pregnancy Fun!

I just go back from my 28 week Gestational Diabetes test. If you don’t know what it is, here is a basic run down…..

1. drink a bottle of SUPER SWEET orange soda in onle five minutes. This is after you haven’t had anything with sugar ALL day!

2. Sit for an hour while the sugar drives the baby crazy, and starts to make you feel sick.

3. Have blood drawn to see if I have diabetes

Doesn’t sound so bad, until the doctor can’t measure your belly because the baby is kicking so much, and that you are starting to get a headache from all of the sugar pulsing through your system. The lesson I learned; Don’t drink straight sugar unless your doctor says you have to. Trust me, you feel yucky for the next couple of hours.

Other than that, The appointment went well. I’m measuring at 30 weeks now (I wanted to giggle from the tape bouncing around as the doctor was trying to measure the belly!) and the baby is perfectly healthy. I’m starting to sleep better, so I’m not nearly as tired.

Now to make the day perfect, I would dive into the giant box of chocolate sitting on the coffee table if it wasn’t for the sugar rush I already have……..

Decided it was time…

I figured now was as good of a time as any to start a blog. I’ve got so many things happening in my life that I knew I was going to need to share them at some point!
