My Chewing Queen (or otherwise OW!!!)

July 29, 2008 at 5:16 pm (Alyssa, Everyday stuff)

It’s a daily occurance now. Alyssa will start wimpering or crying and just chew. Not suck, I mean CHEW! Everyone told me to watch out when she gets her teeth, but no one warned me about her gums! She’ll be hungry and nursing like a champ then CHOMP! Need I say OW! Who knew a baby’s jaw could be so powerful?!?

I think she may be getting some teething symptoms. She used to NEVER drool (something she is great at now), is chewing on something constantly, and is crying when she isn’t chewing. I have read that babies can get their first tooth as young as 3 months and that they can have symptoms for several months before the tooth pops.

I’m praying for sooner rather than later.

Birth Announcements: Take 2

July 22, 2008 at 1:19 pm (Alyssa, Everyday stuff)

So you get to be supprised!!!! I got five copies of each announcement (the horizontal ones are now vertical) and you will be getting one of them!

I recently took the announcement I picked to get printed. When I picked them up I was disappointed with the outcome. They were WAY to dark and not what I saw on my screen when I made them. So I made cuter and girlier ones! Help me pick again!!!

~Adventures In Mommy Land~ The Giggle Emerges!

July 17, 2008 at 8:50 pm (Adventures in Mommy Land, Alyssa, Everyday stuff)

I just had to post this!!!!! When Ben was home for lunch today, I was sitting on the couch swinging Alyssa. With her head/shoulders in one hand and feet in the other, I rocked her back and forth, all while she was smiling like crazy. Then we heard it. A faint giggle. I kept rocking her and I was rewarded with the cutest, deep belly, baby laugh EVER!!!! I was so happy that I started giggling with her while tears streamed down my face. Ben missed her first smile while he was at work, but was there for this one!

It was a GREAT day!

Here’s the winner!!!!!!!!!! It will be on a 5×7 card.

I finally finished Alyssa’s birth announcements. The only problem, I made three and I can’t decide which one to use!!! I need your opinion on which one looks best!!!

Option 1

Option 2

Or option 3

I really need to be more decisive!!!

Rembering Wyatt Gregory Peconi 5/2/2008-6/30/2008

July 8, 2008 at 9:29 am (Everyday stuff, People in My Life)

I just found out that my friends “miracle man” has passed away. Wyatt was delivered on May 2, 2008 by an emergency C-section. He was 12 weeks early. At 1lb 4oz, he clung to life and thrived. His mother, while recovering from an illness that caused her to deliver early to save both of their lives, and his father were by his side every minute they could. They watched him grow. On May 22nd, they got to hold their little man for the first time.

On June 30th, Wyatt became very sick. He was strong, but the illness was stronger. Wyatt passed away that night. My prayers are with Jordanna and Greg.

Lord,

Please be with Jordanna and Greg as they go through this difficult time. Let them know that You are with them and taking good care of little Wyatt for them until they meet with him in heaven someday. Show them that they are not alone and that there are a lot of people there for them. While I don’t know what lesson You want them to take from this, I ask that You show them what You want them to know.

Amen

Thank God!!

July 7, 2008 at 2:12 pm (Alyssa, Everyday stuff, stuff that urks me)

I woke up on Sunday morning with Alyssa wanting to be held at about 4am. Every time I tried to put her back in the bassinet, she would start crying again. So, I got little very little sleep from then on with her laying next to me on my bed. Little did I know that I was going to wake up to this.

When I was folding laundry I couldn’t figure out why it looked like it was leaning tward the wall. The side with the hood was against the wall. The wall was the ONLY thing holding it up when Alyssa was in it. I think God was trying to tell me something when Alyssa wouldn’t sleep in it that night. Now she is in the pack-and-play in our room. She slept much better last night.

I’m happy nothing bad happened to her.
